A Sacred Evening with Medicine Singers

“What an amazing experience. I’m happy to have attended. Thanks to Phil, Alyce, Ron for sharing themselves with us in such a way.”

On January 5th, 2013, people gathered for an evening of sacred traditional songs, dances and ceremonial speeches shared by Phillip Cash Cash, his wife Alyce, and Phil’s Medicine Singing Brother Ron, in Tucson, AZ.   ISA was honored to host this ceremony.

I was taken by every attentive detail by all involved near and far, in having this ceremony and containing the healing for all! So much love and concern was maintained from the beginning to the end.The Phil, Ron, Alyce, Quynn, Elisabeth, Alyson, Coyote soup makers and blessers and pourers, all the Spirits of Mother Nature, here and beyond, everyone present, Thankyou. It was my honour to be able to receive the blessed Spirits and Singing and Salmon and Water and Fir Burroughs and Cedar and Coyote Soup!

A link to images of the gathering of the Fir boughs from the top of Mt. Lemmon before the ceremony.

What a blessed ceremony! Thank you Phil, Alyce, and Ron for the beauty, and for the soulfulness, and for the generosity of spirit. I feel a happy, bubbling heart happiness from it all. <3! Thank you Salmon, thank you Eagle, thank you Water. And, Elisabeth, thank you for delicious Coyote Soup buffet! 🙂 Thank you mountain Trees. You were very kind!

“Thank you for sharing your healing songs, dance and laughter. The love, light, joy and energy that filled the space was heart warming/expanding… Phil, Alyce and Ron please keep up the Good works for it is much needed as well as appreciated. This night is now a memory for me to be cherished with a smile.”

Phillip and Ron, the singing was magnificent. Alyce, your beautiful light was shining. The room was filled with kind and loving hearts. The spirits were awesome. Thank you Coyote for sharing your soup. I enjoyed the laughing, dancing, singing and soaring. 🙂

The day after the releasing and healing ceremony, the singers took the Fir boughs (which absorbed sickness and sadness from people who stood upon them) back up the mountain, to give to the Spirits.

Greetings, a very precious, sacred feeling accompanied us as we released all the fir boughs and other materials used in our medicine singing. This happened at top of the hour of 2 pm today. Our mother earth and the many earthly spirits will take care of our heart’s prayer and open a clear path. Alyce, Ron, and I are all very grateful to share our songs. Many thanks to all who had a hand in preparations on making this event happen. Life and healing always, Phil

A Weekend of Posturing.

As I prepared to move some boxes of books recently, I found the book “Where the Spirits Ride the Wind” by Felicitas D. Goodman .  A note card, written maybe 10 years ago, fell out. In my own writing I read,
”Right Hand above Left, standing.
Sounds Came…
A sea of ants was coming toward me, surrounded me.  I knew that feminine energy works well as a group, like ants. Then they began crawling all over me. Massage like. Felt tickly yet nurturing. Then I was lying down and they all came to me and picked me up. COMBINED STRENGTH!

Then I saw a decaying woman- I heard “The soul of woman is dying to change.” “

I have hosted two “Postures of Flight” circles in the last decade, and I felt called again to host a shamanic journeying circle that explored the ecstatic body postures described in Goodman’s work.  There is much fascinating history and information about this area of research/study. The following is from the website http://www.cuyamungueinstitute.com/ “Ritual body postures found in prehistoric cave paintings and indigenous effigies have their origins with the hunter-gatherer tribes. The oldest posture discovered to date is believed to be approximately 32,000 years old. It was in the horticulturalist societies that followed, however, that the practice of these postures flourished.
Our body is a “universal tool” for insight into the manifold realities we live in and for a direct experience into the living “information network” of consciousness.”

Six journeyers (both experienced and beginners) gathered on Saturday to feel the drumbeat and divine our poses.  We changed our circle procedure so that instead of sharing after each of the two journeys, we wrote our experiences and shared at the end, thereby allowing our inner experiences to be untainted by hearing other’s experiences with the same pose.

We stood, we sat, we lay flat on the ground.  We journeyed together, choosing from the same 6 postures chosen for this circle, yet we traveled on different waves of energy. After experiencing both journeys, we shared.  For the sake of privacy I will not share the details of the journey experiences, yet I will say that people who held the same posture did have significant consistencies with each other.  It happened to the degree that as one person shared excitedly, their sharing prompted another person to share their exploration of the same pose.  Each person noticed how one small change in hand or mouth position, redirected the energy into a whole new experience, bringing more energy, a different direction, or more calm. Two people consistently heard a rattle, even though we were traveling to my single drum.

It felt so fruitful that I decided to use the postures as our focus for the Sunday Circle as well.  For that circle 5 experienced journeyers explored the postures chosen. The words “vibration, relaxed/safe, protection, recognition, remembering, honoring, burying, dancing, and unfolding” were shared over the weekend’s circles.  All had meaningful journeys that held needed guidance for our personal lives.

At the end of Sunday Circle, I asked for a statement that could be shared with you, those reading about these circles, something that wanted to come through. Here is what was shared from our experiences…
”Dropping from mind, into body, letting movement rise, loosening to allow GREATER MIND to flow- images come, images go, swaying body, help me know.”
”Birthing and Metamorphosis- These postures illuminated aspects of my journey experience that were completely new to me…both a birth and a metamorphosis in this work. Thank you.”

“Let yourself float calmly upon the waters of life.
Accept the gifts of the abyss.”
”The body is an instrument that can and will attune energy, facilitate amazing journeys and show us where we need to go.”

“Beyond right and wrong, there is an ocean. I will meet you there.” Rumi

As I think about this enlivening experience, I think about the power of our minds with intention and rhythm, and that our body is truly our sacred vehicle.  As I have come to believe, “Let your mind wander, you never know what it might bring back.”

“Listening to the wind holds value.
The trees want to share their knowledge.
We are not crazy when we hear voices.
We are bringing the strengths of the past into the present.
The future is in our hands.”

“All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.”

Arthur Schopenhauer

Unexplained, and Otherworldly, an experience in my 26th year called me to the path of the shamanic arts and forced me to look within.  I say ‘forced’ on purpose.  I would not have chosen to seek this world so young if I had not been made to pay attention.  While there is no scientific proof, I know that I was contacted by someone/something beyond this world and dimension.  It came in the night. My physical body was left with wounds. However, my spirit and mind were activated in a way I could not have imagined at the time.

This was not my first ‘contact’.  A few days after this unexplained event, I experienced hypnosis for the first time to help me remember what happened.  Very quickly I found myself having sensations that were familiar.  Memories flooded me while trying to find answers.  Sudden feelings, taste, light and sounds were undeniable, all had visited me in dreams as a child.   They were so familiar, yet without words to describe them.

After having the revelation that my recent physical contact had a connection with those who came to me many times as a child, all fear vanished and I knew that ‘it would all be ok and all will be revealed in time’.  This benevolent visitation set a  whole new life in motion, yet I decided to not talk about this part of my spiritual experience.  It all sounded to crazy.  However, “crazy” or not, in meditation they have since told me there was a time as a child they ‘contacted’ me, to protect me.  As an adult they ‘activated’ me.  Then they told me they “would be back”.

Now, in 2012, I have been told it is time to stop hiding. It is time to claim my connections, and honor the experiences of those around me.  I am not alone. We are not alone. It is time to ask to join the circle of friendly Star/Light/Dimensional Beings that are reaching out to us, whoever we may be, and wherever they may be.  Children, Elders, Men, Women, Straight, Two-Spirit, All Colors…we are all connected.  It is time to use our spiritually trained minds while we listen to the consistent beat of a drum and a rattle.  These simple sounds have been used for thousands of years to alter human brainwaves to open pathways to other realms of Reality.  We hear the drum beat and our Dreaming Mind awakens.  In this place, our heart opens, preparing us for sacred listening, complex understanding, and mutual cultural respect with any being that has our highest good.

http://www.transcendencies.com/2010/10/shamanic-journeys-and-ufo-encounters/ This article by Sue Jamieson and the late Dr. John E. Mack  (originally published by © Shamanism, Journal of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Spring/Summer 2003, Vol. 16, No. 1.) describes similarities and differences between an experience with the shamanic journey, and one of Star People ‘contact’. They also share information from varies cultures and tribes about their own Star People connections.  They writeMany indigenous shamans and medicine people, such as Ipu and Cleicha Peixoto, Sequoyah Trueblood, Credo Mutwa, Dhyani Ywahoo, Godfrey Chips, Standing Elk, and Wallace Black Elk, openly acknowledge UFO encounters as part of their reality and speak easily of myths and legends telling of peoples that come from the sky or the stars. According to Osage legends, some Osage lived in the sky, way beyond the Earth.3 The Cherokee, or as they call themselves, Tsalagi, trace their origins to the star group known as the Pleiades, or Seven Dancers,4 as do the Lakota/Dakota/Nakota peoples. The Colombian Amazon Desana say that in the beginning of time, their ancestors arrived on the Earth in canoes from the sky.5 The name of a small tribe in Brazil, Uru-e-Wau-Wau, means literally “people from the stars.”6 “Extraterrestrial” landings and interactions are commonly spoken of by these peoples. 7 According to African lore, “star people” have come from the heavens in “magic sky boats” for thousands of years. The great Zulu warrior king, Shaka, was said to have been “kidnapped” by the mantindane (the “gray beings”).8

Join with those who have had ‘contact’ with benevolent Star People/Dimensional Beings, and those who represent the best of Humanity, for the 2012 Earth and Sky People Congress in Tucson, AZ.  The Institute for the Shamanic Arts will host such gatherings as 2012 progresses.   As a group we will create a sacred circle and, while listening to the shamanic drumbeat, we will activate our crystalline nature to prepare for messages from wise guides of other realms. Emotional Safety and Intercultural/dimensional Ethics are of high priority.

Please ask yourself if you are called to participate. If called, please bring your open heart and uncluttered mind.  Whether you have experienced a ‘shamanic journey’ before, we need people in this circle who listen to the Realms, and who are comfortable with their own ‘quiet mind’. This gathering will be guided by Quynn Red Mountain and Elisabeth Black.   Spirit Guided Donations will be accepted to help Earth Web Media continue its programs and services.

Winter Solstice 2011 – Be Light!

BE LIGHT!
Winter Solstice 2011 in Tucson, AZ.  Join us at 19 E Toole Ave, just west of Solar Culture Gallery.  6:30 pm.

As the year 2012 approaches, luminous energetic vibrations from higher realms and multidimensional beings are streaming toward Earth.

Now is the time to activate our Merkaba* Light Body in a safe and joyful environment with kindred spirits.

*Merkaba is an Egyptian and Hebrew word that means the spinning field of light energy that exists around every living being.

Activation of your Light Body will lead to transformations and enlightenment. It also results in a deeper connection with our higher selves.

On Winter Solstice, we celebrate the return of the sun- Earth’s ultimate source of light.

Tonight,

We will use percussion, rhythm and vibration to BE LIGHT, raise our Merkaba, bring forth light, and infuse loving light into our world for the highest good of all.

For this celebration, please bring:

-a light source like a flashlight, led light, etc. (NO candles, or fire please)

-an item to place on the altar (this could be a picture of someone/thing you would like to send light to, totem, representative of light, etc.)

-percussive rhythm maker, if you have one (we will have some to share)

You are also encouraged to dress as you would like to depict light (costumes, masks, regalia, etc.) .  We will be indoors, yet please dress warmly in layers for a chilly night!

This celebration is offered by spirit guided donation (ask within for an appropriate amount).

Please join us for this special event as we all prepare for the unfolding of the 2012 energy.
